Melissa joined Mudlark in the fall of 2015. She holds B.A. in Philosophy in Allied Field with a specialization in art theory and criticism from the University of Chicago, and an M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis University with a focus on arts education and creating successful classroom teacher-teaching artist collaborations. She is a teaching artist, curriculum designer, and multimedia artist dedicated to arts education outreach and working with under-served students. She has worked with the Auditorium Theatre, American Theater Company, Writers Theater, Redmoon, Changing Worlds, Ingenuity, and the Chicago Arts Educators Forum as a teaching artist, curriculum designer, administrator, and in development. Outside of work she is a mixed-media visual artist who works in everything from basketry to painting to photography, and an animal lover who is unfortunately allergic to everything with fur.
