MUDLARK'S ANNUAL
24-HOUR PLAY FESTIVAL

SHAKESPEARE IS DEAD

JUNE 8th - 9th, 2018

Performances at 6pm and 8:30pm on Saturday, June 9th.

Led by Mudlark's Youth Board and staff, "Shakespeare is Dead" is Mudlark's annual 24 Hour Play Festival; an evening of 10 minute plays written, directed and performed by young actors in just 24 hours!

Our 24 Hour Play Festival gives a nod to the great playwright by choosing an iconic prop, line or costume piece from one of his plays as the inspiration for our playwrights who must integrate that prop, line or costume piece into the final performance.

It only comes once a year, this show is not to be missed!

fundraising goal: $2,000.00!

The proceeds from Shakespeare is Dead go to Mudlark's Diversity Initiative.

Last year, Mudlark Theater partnered with The Art of Evolution Theatre Company (AETC), a nonprofit organization that introduces children of color to meaningful theater experiences. The Diversity Initiative funded ETC actors to participate in Mudlark summer camps and last fall's production of I.D.

This year, Mudlark will continue to foster relationships with the kids, parents, and community organizations born out of last year's partnership and as we make concerted outreach to Evanston's Latinx community. With new programs like our bilingual Improv class at Washington Elementary, and forging new partnerships with Latinx cultural leaders and artists, the funds from Shakespeare is Dead will support our continued efforts to make Mudlark an inclusive and representative arts organization.
