WHAT IS the
YOUTH BOARD?

Mudlark’s Youth Board functions as an engagement and enrichment program for high school students, giving them the opportunity to learn leadership skills, connect with each other and support Mudlark Theater. Youth Board activities consist of engaging in artistic and leadership opportunities, advising the company on how to best serve Mudlark’s youth, and serving as ambassadors for Mudlark to the greater community.

If you’re on our Youth Board, it means you love what we do and you want to help us do it better.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Youth Board members meet with their committees Mudlark staff to support Productions, Events & Fundraising, and Education & Outings. Members will have opportunities to show that support in a variety of ways including:

- Advisory: Mudlark looks to the Youth Board to be the voice of the young people that we serve. The Youth Board’s reflections, experiences, and ideas are essential to its continued growth.

- Volunteering: The best way Youth Board members can support Mudlark is with their time. Youth Board members will volunteer at Mudlark shows and special events, and will have opportunities for more in-depth participation by providing Production Assistant roles for Mudlark shows. Youth Board members also serve a mentors and resources for younger Mudlark artists.

- Fundraising: In order to help support artistic and educational programming at Mudlark, Youth Board members support fundraising opportunities and events. Mentored by Mudlark Development staff, members gain hands on experience in developing relationships with individuals, families, and businesses interested in supporting their work.

- New Initiatives: We look to the Youth Board to help dream up, design, and implement creative new ways to further our mission.
