Mudpie  is a show adapted from original pieces written by young people in our community (Evanston, Skokie, Chicago, etc). We’re looking for anything (short stories, poems, personal essays, rants, reflections) that we can bring to life on stage! The pieces that are selected will be performed this Spring by a group of young actors (ages 10-15). Young authors whose stories are selected for Mudpie will get complimentary tickets to the show(s) and receive official recognition in the show program and press release.

This will be Mudlark’s 9th Mudpie production.

What is Mudpie?

We are looking for any writing that young people are passionate about! These pieces could be short stories, poems, speeches, personal essays, original fairy tales, rants, reflections, or free-writes. They can be serious, silly, or abstract. These pieces will be performed by young actors ages 10-15, so please ensure that content is appropriate for this age group.

What Are we looking for?

Young authors will be notified if their writing piece was chosen to be a part of this year’s Mudpie by the end of March. If a piece is not chosen for the production during the Spring of 2024, there is a possibility for its inclusion in future performances.
